Icon Composer version 1.01 is released!

Sound out the trumpets!  Bang the drums!

Actually, nothing changed in the app itself.  I just added some spiff screenshots in the App Store, and that requires a whole new version. Whoop-de-doo!

Now the basic functionality is in place, I’m thinking of what to add next.  Here are my ideas:

  • A “Save” feature, so the user can save their work and improve it later.  I’m thinking to save a folder with the original image files, plus a file that documents any editing so the final image can be recreated.  Bit of a major rebuild under the hood for that one.
  • An “Add text” feature.  Would require adding a new layer with font, size and colour parameters.  Maybe even angle.  Intriguing…
  • A “Print” menu item.  Pretty standard, that.
  • Multiple concurrent windows.  Is that really needed?  Does anyone work on multiple icons simultaneously?  Not sure about that.
  • Is there an easier way to insert an iconset into Xcode other than dragging each icon one at a time into the asset catalog?  Maybe.
  • Blurring around the edges?  Might be a cool effect.

Anyway, if anyone’s reading this, put on your thinking caps and throw some ideas at me.  One free beer will be given for each sensible suggestion!
